State exco meeting: Oyetola's spokesperson hits Rasheed, Adeleke's media aide

...says he lacks sense of decency in public communication

Chief Press Secretary to former Osun Governor, Ismail Omipidan, has described the attempt by Governor Ademola Adeleke's spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, to compare the inability of his principal to hold a cabinet meeting 54 days after the cabinet was inaugurated to that of former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, who held his first cabinet meeting 11 days after inaugurating his cabinet, as one lacking in logic and common sense.

He described the governor's spokesperson as someone who lacks sense of decency in public communication with his penchant for deliberately twisting facts of issues, just to score cheap political point.

Omipidan noted that the bone of contention is the period from when the cabinet was inaugurated to when the first cabinet meeting was held.

He noted that he was appointed Chief Press Secretary on August 5, 2019, while the cabinet list was unveiled on September 24, 2019.

Oyetola's spokesperson further said"by October 10, 2019, the Assembly confirmed the nominees. This was followed by a retreat for the appointees which held between October 15 and 19.  By October 24, Oyetola inaugurated his cabinet and by November 4, 2019, he held his first exco meeting.

"Obviously, this is incomparable to that of the present administration that has failed to hold its inaugural exco meeting 54 days after inaugurating the cabinet, which is the point the Osun APC raised.

"Rather than explain why his boss has not been able to hold  inaugural meeting after the inauguration of his cabinet, the Governor's spokesperson, in his characteristics manner of  misinforming the public, is saying Oyetola did not hold his inaugural exco meeting until November 4, making it look like it took the former governor one year after inaugurating his cabinet before he could hold his maiden exco meeting, which is a false narrative," Omipidan added.
