VERY LITTLE PROGRESS HAS BEEN MADE UNDER ADELEKE- OSUN IPAC

The Osun State chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council(IPAC), Simon Adebayo berated Adeleke for his style of administering the state, describing it as nepotistic. 

Adebayo averred that Adeleke exalted Ede agenda above the rule of law by ensuring that more appointments are given to Ede-born especially in civil service as Permanent Secretaries. 

He noted that Ede indigenes are given appointments to juicy positions in his government as cabinet members and civil service. 

The IPAC chair frowned at ‘illegal’ method adopted so far under the administration of Adeleke to oust those in public office especially the former Rector of Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Dr Tajudeen Odetayo and Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Oyebola Ojo. 

He said, “Adeleke's 1 year anniversary as Governor of Osun State is not a cause for celebration. Despite the PDP leading the state government, very little progress has been made under their leadership. One recent decision that has raised concerns among other political parties is the appointment of Barrister Abioye Hassim as the Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission. 

“It is evident that Barrister Hassim is a card-carrying member of the ruling party, which raises doubts about the fairness and impartiality of the electoral process. Furthermore, the recent witch hunting of the chief Judge by Governor Adeleke is another wrong signal for good governance.”

He continued, “The government's spending has been irresponsible, with little direct impact on the welfare of the people. There is a lack of transparency and accountability, with state funds being misused and a lack of clarity in their allocation. 

“Propaganda, falsehoods, and deception have become synonymous with this administration. In terms of key areas such as security and infrastructure, the government has performed poorly. The promised water project remains elusive for the majority of local governments, and the state's roads have deteriorated to an almost impassable state.”

He advised that “the civil service needs to be reformed to ensure productivity, and the long-standing issue of vacant traditional stools should be promptly addressed to reduce tensions in our communities. The people of Osun State deserve better leadership and tangible progress. It is high time that Governor Adeleke acknowledges the failures and shortcomings of his administration and takes immediate steps to rectify them.”
