Honourable Olawole Temitayo Olalekan (OLABAF), a former executive member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ife East Local Government, has officially left the party and joined the Progressive Party.

Today marks a major change in local politics as Honourable Olawole Temitayo Olalekan (OLABAF), a former executive member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ife East Local Government, has officially left the party and joined the Progressive Party.
He made this announcement at my Olasode country home, and it was greeted with great enthusiasm from many of his supporters and leaders of our party.
In a surprising move, Olalekan, who had been a strong member of Moore 01, Ife East Local government (APC) and had campaigned against our party, has decided to join the APC. This shift represents a significant change and a new order in Ife East Local Government.
I enjoined him to stay loyal to the course of the party and be guided by the constitution of our great party. I have also directed him to fulfil the necessary obligation to be a full-fledged member of the All Progressives Congress.
Signed:
Sooko Lawal Tajudeen Olaniyi
APC Chairman, Osun State
18th August 2024.
