A foremost sociopolitical association in Osun State, Ileri-Oluwa Vendors (I-OV), has described the 70th birthday anniversary of the former governor of Osun State and incumbent of the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, as celebration-worthy for reasons of his excellence in governance and exemplary leadership. 

The group in a congratulatory statement issued by the General Secretary, Jimoh Olorede, and jointly signed by the President and State Coordinator, Prince Dayo Babaranti and Wahab Oyeniyi respectively eulogized the Minister on the glorious occasion of his Septuagenarian birthday anniversary celebrations extolling him as an excellent administrator and leader. 

According to the group, Oyetola's performance as Osun State governor remains unbeatable given his achievements during his short-lived, single-term, troubled tenure, which was characterized by litigations that lasted for about nine months, world-deadly Corona Virus that crippled his government for several months, and the defiant #EndSARS protest to which his life would have been lost, but by dint of fate.

The group in the statement said: "We extoll our beloved 'Oga', leader, and benefactor's rare, outstanding and excellent achievements as the basis for celebrating his birthday given the paucity of funds and parlous financial situation of the state exacerbated by the inherited throat-squeezing loans that could have rendered his administration as Osun governor fiscally impotent and incapacitated.

"And since his appointment and assumption of office as Hon. Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, he has been replicating same strides of excellent performance in the new Ministry. 

"The humongous revenues generated in the first quarter of the year 2024 and remitted by his Ministry to the coffers of the Federal Government attest to his acumen in revenue generation, fiscal management and discipline, and leadership transparency."

Beseeching God for longevity of life and commensurate sound health, more enviable accomplishments for continuous benefaction of many, and godly provision and protection, the group led by Prince Babaranti assured the Minister of their unrelenting and unalloyed support and loyal patronage to his beneficial leadership while commending the Organizing Committee of 'Oyetola @70 Birthday Anniversary' chaired by the former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Timothy Owoeye.
