A former military head of state, General Sani Abacha said “Any Insurgency that lasts more than 24 hours, a government official has a hand in it.”, this is exactly what we are witnessing in Osun State under the PDP government, a sitting government was releasing different press statements to support a man who was arrested by Nigeria Police with a foreign pistol and live ammunitions, it was confirmed that the person holds a very powerful appointment from Adeleke’s government.
“No wonder they are saying Osun is different from Ondo, they rely on guns not Osun people’s votes”
According to the statement released by the Nigeria Police Force, Mr Nurudeen Alowole was initially arrested around Ring Road, Osogbo but he later escaped, He was subsequently rearrested along Akede-Iyaloja, Oke Baale in a serious gunfight with the Nigeria police, a civilian man engaging Nigeria Police force in a gunfight, Can anybody dare such without a government backing?
In a viral video, a gun and ammunition that were seized from Transport Management System’s chairman are displayed for people and the government to see, but surprisingly Osun Government released a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, He said; “The Osun State Government has accused the State Police Command of an attempt to murder the Chairman of Osun Transport Management System, Iyanda Alowonle.
This was as the state government called for the arrest and prosecution of the head of the anti-kidnapping unit of the Police Command, Mr Moses Lohor, over his involvement in the alleged shooting of the Alowonle”
So, the Government prefers a civilian with an Illegal gun to kill the Nigerian policeman with a constitutionally backing weapon?
And again, all commercial activities have been closed down, No movement of commercial vehicles, and people are running helter-scatter around Oke-Baale, Sasa, and Akede areas. The situation has sparked fear and outrage, with many people calling for immediate intervention from the state government and law enforcement agencies.
The same State government and Nigeria Police are at loggerheads presently, who will rescue our people? Who will protect the common citizens in Osun State?
