It is both laughable and shameful that Oluwaseun Arewa, in his poorly scripted propaganda piece, attempts to paint the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a violent party while conveniently ignoring the well-documented history of lawlessness and reckless governance under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State.
His article, titled “Osun Youths, Say No to Political Manipulation: Reject APC’s Call for Violence,” is nothing but a deliberate distortion of facts, aimed at misleading the good people of Osun. It is the height of hypocrisy for the PDP and its agents to cry wolf when, in reality, they are the ones orchestrating political instability in the state.
The Truth About the Court Judgment
First, let’s set the record straight: the recent Court of Appeal ruling affirmed that the tenure of duly elected local government chairmen and councilors under the APC was illegally terminated by the PDP-led administration. The court did not mince words in condemning Governor Ademola Adeleke’s unconstitutional actions. Instead of respecting the judiciary, the PDP has resorted to propaganda and intimidation.
Arewa falsely claims that the APC is “misrepresenting” the ruling. But the truth is glaring—what PDP fears is the rightful return of democratically elected officials whom they unlawfully removed. Their desperation is evident in their attempts to twist the court’s decision and spread lies.
Who Are the Real Sponsors of Violence?
Arewa warns Osun youths against being used for violence, yet he remains silent on the numerous cases of PDP thugs unleashing terror on innocent citizens. Where was his voice when PDP hoodlums attacked and murdered APC members in multiple local government areas?
It is the PDP that has been employing violence as a political tool since assuming office. From attacks on opposition figures to the brutalization of peaceful protesters, their reign has been marked by intimidation and lawlessness. APC has remained steadfast in its commitment to due process and democratic principles.
If Arewa truly cares about Osun youths, he should tell the PDP government to stop using them as political thugs to harass opposition voices. He should ask Governor Adeleke why young people in Osun are still jobless despite his bogus campaign promises.
A Call for Justice and Peace
Unlike the PDP, APC believes in the rule of law and democratic engagement. We call on security agencies to be vigilant and ensure that PDP-sponsored thugs do not disrupt the peace in Osun. The people have seen through the lies and deception of the Adeleke-led administration, and no amount of propaganda can change the truth.
To the good people of Osun, remain resolute. Justice will prevail. The PDP’s era of impunity is coming to an end, and no amount of false narratives can stop the will of the people.
