... Trek 6km in solidarity for APC leading guber aspirant
No fewer than 20,000 residents of Osun state stormed Osogbo, Osun state capital in solidarity walk for the leading gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The ecstatic residents who trooped out en masse as early as 7am on Tuesday took to the streets in 6km endurance trek from popular Osogbo city stadium through Omo West to Ayetoro and Igbonna to Olonkoro, Old Garage to MDS and Olaiya to Ogo-oluwa where the leadership of AMBO Movement addressed the party faithful and supporters of the former finance commissioner.
The former Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Timothy Owoeye who led the trek described the massive turnout as unprecedented.
Owoeye said: "this is glaring as you can see for yourself. Seeing is believing. Our people willingly came out to register their support for the leading gubernatorial aspirant of our party - Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji popularly called AMBO. They equally reaffirmed their readiness to mobilize massively for the re-election of our national leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu."
Similarly, the Executive Director, Marine Operations, Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, Hon. Olalekan Badmus, eulogized residents of the state for their unflinching support and solidarity for the APC and the leading gubernatorial aspirant of the party.
Badmus, popularly called Omo Oloore, described the genuine show of love, endorsement and solidarity from the people of the state particularly the residents of Osogbo as applaudable.
Also, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke expressed delight in the impressive turnout.
"We are here to prove a point and our people have demonstrated that. See quality people that came out today for the solidarity trek. This has further testified to the fact that Oyebamiji's candidature is God's grace. We are resolute and committed to the cause and by the grace of God, we shall triumph", Adeleke affirmed
In their separate remarks, former lawmaker, Osogbo state Constituency, Hon. Taofeek Badamosi Abolubode, Hon. Segun Ayodele Fanibe, Hon. Kayode Oduoye, Hon. Lateef Adebisi Jayeola, Hon. Abiola Olaniyan among others extolled the people for their unflinching support and solidarity.
The "Unity Walk" had leadership and members of the party in attendance, including former members state and national assemblies, former cabinet members, council Chairmen and Councillors, chieftains of the party, coordinators of different political groups, residents of the state, among others.
