AMBO Media Faults PDP Over False Murder Allegation in Ikire, Calls for Police Investigation
The attention of the AMBO Media Fronts has been drawn to a spurious and baseless statement issued by the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), maliciously linking the Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) Movement to the death of one of its notorious and wanted thugs in Irewole Local Government, Adesile Seebu.
The deceased, Seebu, had reportedly been declared wanted by the police in connection with the gruesome murder of an APC chieftain, Hon. Remi Abass, on February 17, 2025. Having been on the run since then, Seebu resurfaced in the ancient town of Ikire last week alongside other violent individuals accused of involvement in the same murder, during a road flag-off ceremony organized by the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Lere Oyewumi.
Reliable reports indicate that in a violent struggle for supremacy and over the sharing of iron rods being excavated by a caterpillar deployed for the road project handled by Senator Oyewumi’s contractor, the PDP thugs engaged in a bloody clash among themselves---an incident that reportedly led to Seebu’s death.
For the avoidance of doubt, today’s violence has absolutely no connection with Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji or his campaign organization. The AMBO Movement had no event or activity in Ikire that could warrant the presence of its members or supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
We, therefore, categorically reject and condemn in its entirety the criminal and defamatory statement issued by the PDP’s spokesperson, Hezekiah Oladele Bamiji (HOB), aimed at maligning the integrity of our principal.
Asiwaju Oyebamiji is a man of peace who neither harbours nor associates with criminals or thugs. Throughout his extensive governorship consultation tour across the 30 local government areas of Osun State, not a single violent incident was recorded. The only known fracas occurred in Apomu, where PDP thugs brutally attacked innocent members of the AMBO Movement--- several of whom were arrested and remain under police investigation.
The AMBO Media Fronts is aware that since the cold-blooded murder of Hon. Remi Abass, some powerful figures within the PDP have made repeated attempts to derail and trivialize the ongoing police investigation. We believe that the latest killing may be part of a deliberate plot to divert attention from the prosecution of PDP members and chieftains currently facing murder charges in Abuja in connection with Hon. Abass’s death.
We, therefore, call on the Osun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Gotan, to launch a thorough investigation into both the circumstances surrounding Seebu’s death and the malicious statement circulated by the PDP to smear the good name of Asiwaju Oyebamiji. AMBO is well loved by the people, therefore does not need any thug to win the 2026 governorship contest. Let the evil characters who are making fortunes out of brigandage and terror be eternally pricked by their conscience.

Adebayo Adedeji
