- OSUN APC TO PDP:Our Governorship Aspirants Are Peace-loving... You're Responsible For Latest Ikire Killing - APC Slams Ruling Party





PRESS STATEMENT.                            
(9TH NOVEMBER, 2025).
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC) has condemned the persistent use of lies and subterfuges by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to misinform the unsuspecting members of the public and the security services about its devious roles in promoting and causing violence in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Council Area of the state.

It would be recalled that the state chapter of the PDP issued a statement yesterday, accusing the AMBO Movement, the mobilization team of one of the governorship aspirants in our party, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, of being responsible for the killing of a person in Ikire when the contrary was the case.

We want to state categorically and unequivocally that neither Oyebamiji nor his advocacy team 'AMBO Movement' was involved in violence let alone in killing any person. 

The PDP misinformation was in the realm of calling a dog a bad name in order to hang it.  But the handlers of the PDP devilish ploy to implicate Asiwaju Oyebamiji has fallen flat like a pack of cards.

Our investigation showed that the last fracas in Ikire was an attack on the APC members by the PDP thugs and some of them have been arrested and are under investigation.

The PDP tried effortlessly in vain to turn the violent incident against the APC members but surprisingly, some of the actors arrested were PDP hoodlums who have confessed and voluntarily identified and mentioned the PDP thugs involved.

Mentioning our aspirant is a weighty allegation  and the PDP spokesman needs to be questioned by security authorities as our aspirant had no programme in Ikire as at the time the PDP was falsely accusing him of being complicit in the violent incident.

The police and the Department of State Service(DSS) should, without further delay, begin the investigation of the Ikire inhuman killing as the PDP handlers are known for creating an alibi to cover up their crimes.

It is on record that there was no single recorded violence throughout our governorship aspirants' consultation tour of the thirty local governments and Modakeke Area office. 

It was further gathered that the PDP thugs that perpetrated violence on February 17th, 2025 and ran away to escape arrest returned home last week and that  fighting broke out among the PDP hoodlums on Saturday morning when they were sharing the iron rods being excavated by the caterpillar deployed by the contractor of the Senator representing the Osun-West Senatorial District  to execute the construction of the township road flagged off  last week.

It is necessary to impress it further that all our governorship aspirants are peace-loving who have been demonstrating same during their consultation visits to all the local government council areas.

If the PDP leaders and their co-travellers are thinking that they can hang their criminal offence of the inhuman killing of a fellow human being on any of  our aspirants, they are making the greatest mistake of their lives as the proverbial legs of their buried dead body have been exposed.

Our advice for the PDP propagandists is to go back to their drawing board and map out another ways and means of effecting another lie against our party as this latest one has hit the rock.
