Christmas: Osun ALGON Rejoices With Christians, Assures Democratic Dividends Across Councils

The Forum of the Council Chairmen in Osun State under the umbrella of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), has extended heartfelt felicitations to the citizens particularly Christians in the state and beyond on the occasion of this year Christmas celebration. 

Osun ALGON reassured commitment to even spread of democratic dividends across the nooks and crannies of the state. 
The Council Chairmen, in a congratulatory statement signed and made available to newsmen by the ALGON Chairman, Hon. Idowu Abiodun, extolled the resilience, allegiance and cooperation of the people of the state since their reinstatement. 

The Council Chairmen described the birth of Jesus Christ as a phenomenon worthy of celebration saying the mythical Christ birth depicts humility, love, peace, piousness, purity, integrity, dignity and faithfulness worthy of emulation. 

They implored citizens particularly Christians to imbibe the spirit of humility, tolerance and piousness as exhibited by the Christ. 

Osun ALGON acknowledged undiluted warm reception and acceptance received from the people across the grassroots describing it as unprecedented since their return to their various councils. 

They assured the people at the grassroots their resolve to advancing their cause and effect the desired change as soon as the implementation of projects begins in all the 30 Local Government Areas of the state. 

"Celebration of Christmas is as old as the birth of Jesus Christ. It is a period of sober reflection and a period of sacrifice, abundant blessings, mercies, favours, divine intervention for greatness and prosperity. It is a period of compassion and extension of alms giving to the needy hence the need for Christians to emulate the virtues as exemplified by Christ. 

"On this year's festive period, we identify  with and celebrate with our people particularly the Christians on the occasion of this year's Christmas celebration. We pray God for longevity of life to celebrate more on the planet earth. 

"As for us, we are resolute to continuously bring succour to our people at our various Councils as we begin the implementation of people -centred policies and programmes that would impact positively on our economy and advance the cause of our people", ALGON assured.
