HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY, OWA OBOKUN ADIMULA AND THE PARAMOUNT RULER OF IJESA LAND, OWA CLEMENT ADESUYI HAASTRUP III, HAS ESTABLISHING IJESA-CHINA TOWN THE FIRST OF ITS KIND IN OSUN STATE
In addition to the Owa Ajimoko Agricultural project on a vast land of approximately three thousand hectares along Ilesa- Akure highway, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup has also initiated preliminary work on the establishment of a Chinese town and a computer village in Ilesa.
Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, the Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijesaland revealed this information at a dinner hosted by Osun State Government in Osogbo for the monarch's Chinese business associates.
The paramount ruler stated that the 17-member delegation has taken the farm soil for profiling to ensure optimal yields and harvests at the end of each season.
According to him, the concept of the project being implemented with the assistance of a combined team of Nigerian and Chinese agribusiness experts was conceived when he made up his mind to contest the vacant stool of Owa Obokun last year.
Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup observed that the concept of the Chinese village was conceived out of his sympathy for his people who consistently fall prey to counterfeit and substandard products and the challenges faced by importers of Chinese products at ports.
"With the establishment of the first Chinese village in Ilesa, designated as Ijesaland Chinese village, our community will gain access to high-quality products. Nancy, the leader of the delegation, has been a reliable supplier of electronics and electrical appliances for over seventeen years for all my projects, with none of my clients lodging complaints about her products. However, I was disappointed by our local Ibo traders in Ilesa when I decided to patronize them during my seclusion. Unfortunately, all the electrical appliances malfunctioned within three weeks. Having listened to their excuses when I summoned them, I promised that I would prefer a solution to their problems. Firstly, by subsidizing the duties on their goods and secondly by bringing Chinese products close to them".
"Here we are today fulfilling my pact as their paramount ruler. My people's convenience and happiness has been my priority since the day I have agreed to wear the shoe of my predecessor" he added.
The host, Osun State Governor, Senator Jackson Ademola Adeleke, commended the Owa Obokun for his remarkable achievements in Ijesaland and assured that his administration would continue to foster a favorable business environment for foreign investors.
Senator Adeleke stated that his administration has enhanced the provision of essential basic amenities, such as good roads and electricity, to facilitate foreign investments in the state and pledged to support the Owa's initiative, in addition to providing land, which he believed would stimulate the state's economy
Earlier, Mrs Nancy, the leader of the delegation, underscored the significance of such a collaborative relationship for the economic growth of Ijesaland and Osun State in general.
She stated that the Owa Obokun had the best interests of his people at heart and his team was prepared to provide assistance in bringing his vision to fruition without exploiting his people or overstepping their boundaries.
On Owa's entourage were Her Regal Majesty, Olori Victoria Haastrup, Ogboni of Ipole, Oba Omokehinde Oyeleye, Alademure (Ogboni) of Obokun, Oba Festus Awogboro , Elegboro ( Ogboni) of Ijebujesa , Oba Olufemi Agunsoye.
