Yuletide: Ogun–Oshun River Basin ED, Kayode Sowade Donates 150 Bags of Rice, Cash and Chicken to Osun Residents
In a move widely seen as a demonstration of loyalty, appreciation and grassroots-oriented politics, the Executive Director, Engineering Services of the Ogun–Oshun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA), Hon. Kayode Sowade, has donated 150 bags of 50kg rice , Chicken and Cash support to residents across Ife Federal Constituency as part of the 2025 yuletide celebration.
The yuletide outreach, which targets party faithfuls, community leaders, support groups and local governments is done in the name of His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola, the Minister for Marine and Blue Economy
According to the distribution plan, 30 bags of rice has been allocated to Ife North Local Government, another 30 bags to the Modakeke community, 30 bags to Ife South Local Government, while 60 bags were set aside to support organized groups.
Hon. Sowade expressed deep gratitude to the Minister, describing him as a leader whose commitment to inclusive governance and capacity building continues to open doors for competent professionals to serve.
“I remain profoundly grateful to President Bola Tinubu and His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola, for the opportunity to serve as in my current capacity at Oshun River Basin Development Authority.
"This modest yuletide support is done in his name as a token of appreciation and as a way of giving back to the people,” Sowade said.
He noted that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope agenda of the Federal Government, particularly in promoting social welfare and strengthening the bond between government appointees and the grassroots.
The donation further underscores Sowade’s commitment to community development and responsive leadership, especially during significant periods such as the yuletide season.The Modakeke born politician is the convener and Initiator of the "Oyetola Hand of Fellowship" (OHOF) programme which is a community empowerment initiative in Osun State, inspired by former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, providing cash, food, and support to hundreds of households to alleviate hardship and foster grassroots development.
