Birthday: Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni (Fmhr) Hails Chief Abdulkareem Adebisi Akande @ 87

A former Member of the House of Representatives who represented Ijesa South Federal Constituency, Honourable Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni (FMHR), has expressed heartfelt felicitations to the pioneer Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Governor of Osun State, Chief AbdulKareem Adebisi Akande, on the occasion of his 87th birthday.

The former lawmaker, hailed Baba Akande’s immense contributions to the advancement, growth, and consolidation of progressive politics in Nigeria, describing him as a living legend.

In a congratulatory message, the former federal lawmaker fondly celebrated the elder statesman, popularly called Baba แปŒmแป Kรฉรฉkรจรจ kรฉ, acknowledging his visionary leadership, exemplary qualities, and inimitable virtues of loyalty, discipline, integrity, and honesty that clearly distinguish him from his contemporaries.

Hon. Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni recalled the pivotal roles played by Chief Akande in ensuring the return and sustenance of progressive governance in Nigeria, noting that his steadfastness, courage, and unwavering commitment to national integration and nation-building will remain evergreen in the nation’s political history.
“I am enthusiastically elated and deeply honoured to celebrate our father, mentor, tutor, and political pathfinder, Chief AbdulKareem Adebisi Akande, in whom we continually draw wisdom, knowledge, and intellectual depth that have shaped our values, leadership orientation, and service to humanity,” Ayeni stated.

He described Baba แปŒmแป Kรฉรฉkรจรจ kรฉ as a highly revered Nigerian elder statesman — Second Republic Deputy Governor of old Oyo State, former Governor of Osun State, and the first Interim National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) — whose life exemplifies principle, selflessness, consistency, integrity, dignity, and disciplined leadership in both public and private spheres.

“As a living legend,  Chief Akande is globally respected for his moral courage, blunt honesty, and unwavering commitment to progressive ideals. 
On behalf of his family, friends and  political associates Hon. L B Ayeni joined Chief Akande’s family, friends, political allies, and professional associates at home and in the diaspora to celebrate the elder statesman’s selfless service to humanity and immense contributions to nation-building, national growth, and global development.

He concluded with prayers for the celebrant:
“As you mark this landmark and cornerstone anniversary of 87 years, I pray that Almighty Allah grants you sound health, renewed strength, and greater wisdom to continue to guide, mentor, and impact lives across generations.
