Osun 2026: Oyebamiji, APC Chair Receive Members of Aregbesola's Youth Wing Back to APC. Oyebamiji Confident of Returning APC to Govt in Osun. As Blue Movement Convener Assures Massive Votes for Oyebamiji

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) alongside the APC state Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, on Wednesday warmly received members of the formidable political group loyal to the former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Blue Movement, into the mainstream APC in Osogbo. 

Blue Movement, led by its founder, Comrade Wale Alabi, parted ways from the camp of the former Governor Rauf Aregbesola, the current National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress, ADC and formally returned to the party in order to work for the victory of the APC guber candidate in the August 8th Governorship Election in the state. 

Oyebamiji reaffirmed the party's high level of commitment and readiness to victory, adding that "returning APC to victory not in doubt" 

This is even as Blue Movement founder, Comrade Wale Alabi assured unwavering determination to canvass, mobilize massively and ensure substantial votes for the emergence of Oyebamiji.

Speaking at the event held at the popular Adenle school, Ayetoro, Osogbo, Oyebamiji expressed profound gratitude to the leadership and members of Blue Movement for deeming it fit to return to the mainstream APC. 

Oyebamiji, who described the Movement as one of the strongest political groups in the state, urged its members to work with the existing structures of the party in the collective goal of winning the forthcoming governorship election. 

Earlier, the founder of the Movement, Comrade Wale Alabi said the Movement willingly returned to the mainstream party to collectively work together and return progressive party to government. 

"We are here to sustain progressives' legacy. We are here to promote progressives' legacy. We are here to win Osun back to progressives. We are firm to ensure all round victory in the next governorship election in Osun State. I will only appeal to our leaders not to fail us. They must give their all for the success of the election. We must not fail in the August 2026 election.  Our political destiny is attached to this. Let's stress this: we are not decamping to APC. We have never left. Before today, we belonged to a caucus inside APC but unfortunately where were before, we only hibernated ourselves and the reason we chose that is well known to our leaders.

" So what we are doing today is not decampment; it is reintegration because we are not coming from another party. We were sleeping before now; we are awake. It was in our sleep that we heard the voice of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji AMBO calling from the wilderness saying it is time for Blue Movement to wake up from their slumber. AMBO woke us up and today, we are reintegrating ourselves back to our roots. 

"What belongs to progressives that was stolen from us by the dancing Senator that accidentally became the Governor, we want to take it back, that is why you see the Blue Movement here. We will take it back. This is the high time we rallied round Oyebamiji to return our party to government. Together we will win so that we shall make Osun work again", Alabi assured. 

In his remarks, APC Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal expressed delight in the  progresses recorded by the party thus far. He urged members of the party to return to their domain and start massive mobilization and support for party's gubernatorial candidate. 

The State Chairman of Blue Movement, Olatoke Lawal said: "It is a promise that we will move from street to street, ward to ward, and polling unit to polling unit – not with bitterness or violence, but with persuasion, unity, and discipline. We will talk to our mothers in the markets, our fathers in the farms, our youths on the streets, and our elders in their homes.
