Osun 2026: You're a man of faith, pride of Islam, cleric commends Oyebamiji's philanthropic gesture, humanity

As Osun state governorship election draws nearer, an Islamic cleric and Chief Imam of Ajagbemokeferi Central Mosque, Ogo-oluwa, Osogbo, Sheikh Lukman Tijani Adekunle, on Friday commended the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the election, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO, for his rare faithfulness, philanthropic gesture and humanity.

The cleric expressed optimism in the Oyebamiji's charismatic quality to govern with conscience if elected Governor, urging him to prioritize the critical sectors in the state.
Sheikh Adekunle, who decried woes in the current education, health, agriculture, security and infrastructure sectors in the state, charged Oyebamiji to place the welfare of the masses, especially that of the underprivileged, when he becomes Governor.

"Oyebamiji is no doubt a pride of Islam and symbol of religiosity deducing from his outward dispositions to the propagation of our faith and immense contributions to the advancement of the cause of Muslims in particular and humanity in general.

"I can testify to Oyebamiji's philanthropic gesture and support for Islam. This is not his first time of praying with us in this Mosque. He has consistently identified with us and oftentimes, he stays at the back. He is a humility personified. He is known for faithfulness, sincerity and piousness, and as a silent philanthropist, Allah has used him to build several mosques across the state. These are the virtues that stood him out.

"I must emphasize that Islam doesn't forbid participation in politics. What is important is that leadership should be defined by faithfulness and the need for leaders to govern with conscience.

"My candid advice for our incoming Governor, Insha-Allah, is to prioritize critical sectors of the economy. When elected Governor, kindly revamp the education sector. Our education system needs a total overhaul. Please pay good attention to this critical sector. Also, prioritize agricultural sector. We are hoping for a state where there will be food sufficiency and food security.

"I want to equally advise you to prioritize health sector. This is a key area that you need to pay critical attention to. We know the state of our health sector and I want to implore you to revitalise the sector. So, also, security sector among other sectors when elected", Chief Imam added.

In his short remarks, Oyebamiji gave thanks to Almighty Allah for His ultimate guidance and protection just as he reaffirmed his stance to redefine the economy of the state for the benefit and goodness of the populace.

The APC gubernatorial candidate, who was accompanied by APC chieftains, recalled the rare love that Prophet Muhammad and his disciples had for Islam, urged the people of the state to support him wholeheartedly in his quest to administer the affairs of the state and turn around the socioeconomic fortunes of Osun.
