Osun group decries lack of jobs under Adeleke, endorses Oyebamiji

The Osun Central Elite Caucus, a political group, has faulted the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, accusing it of failing to create a single sustainable job for the people of Osun State after nearly four years in office.
In a statement issued by Professor Hussein Ajirotutu on behalf of the caucus, the group expressed deep concern that despite huge financial inflows to the state and constant publicity around infrastructure, the lives of ordinary citizens have not improved in any measurable way.
Ajirotutu stressed that governance should be judged by impact rather than appearances, noting that the administration has been unable to point to any deliberate and well-structured job creation policy capable of reducing unemployment or empowering youths, professionals and artisans.
The caucus accused the Adeleke-led government of reckless spending of state funds under the guise of infrastructural projects, alleging that many of such projects lack transparency, economic justification and long-term value to the people.
He added that infrastructure without productivity is meaningless, stressing that roads that do not connect industries, undeveloped skills and budgets that do not translate into jobs amount to fiscal waste and poor governance. “Osun State today is witnessing spending without strategy, projects without productivity, and governance without vision,” he said.
The caucus further lamented that youths across the state remain largely unemployed, while small and medium-scale businesses continue to struggle due to weak economic policies, limited access to credit and an unfavourable business environment.
Ajirotutu, however, described the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, as a more credible and economically grounded alternative, citing his competence, discipline and understanding of fiscal responsibility, human capital development and sustainable growth.
The caucus called on professionals, traditional opinion leaders, youths and civil society groups in the state to critically assess the performance of the current administration and reject what it described as four years of missed opportunities
