You're Not Sincere In Your Plan For Teachers' Recruitment... Efforts Based On Kick-and-start Device- Osun APC Slams Adeleke

PRESS STATEMENT.                                    (21ST JANUARY, 2026)

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration to stop feeding the innocent people of the state with gibberish about the preparedness of the government to hire teachers into the public schools in the state after three years into its administration.

There is nothing suggestive of the genuiness of Governor Adeleke to replace the 1,500 teachers recruited by his predecessor which he maliciously sacked through vindictiveness by the introduction of the obnoxious Executive Order the second day he assumed office in 2022.

It is a pity that the state government could repeat doing the same thing and expecting different results about the administration of the state as the people of the Osun State are already fed up with the constant mere political talks about the defence of the glaring inefficiency and absolute failure of the government in all ramifications.

There is nothing to qualify the constant appearance of the state Commissioner for information, Mr. Kolapo Alimi, on both radio and television, reeling out falsehoods aimed at misinforming the people of the state which has become his hallmark than deliberately heaping insult on the sensibility of the people of the state.

How on earth would a state commissioner of information come on the air to defend the government policy on the recruitment of teachers without sufficiently arming himself on the number of teachers that his government is set to engage if not that he was out to spew falsehood and subterfuge?
How can a government predicate the inability of its administration to hire teachers on its failure to access local government funds when it is an undeniable statement of fact that the Supreme Court has settled the furore that the local government is an independent tier of government?

It was also disheartening that the Adeleke-led government had not done its homework before it hurriedly announced the readiness of his government to hire the teachers who were examined and interviewed over two years ago as it would have known the cost-implication of the exercise before it was pushed to the public.

How else could one ascribe the appellation of kick-and-start on the Osun State Governor Adeleke if not because of a situation at hand concerning his rush to hire the teachers which number he does not know in order to counter the resolve of the reinstated APC local government chairmen to reabsorb the 1,500 teachers sacked by the governor in 2022?

It is balderdash for the Adeleke government to hang its inability to hire teachers for over three years running on his loss of the authority to run the local government administration to the opposition as such excuse is not plausible as it's on record that the Adeleke government known for mispriority of projects has collected over one billion naira allocations from all fronts since its inception.

The statement that disappointedly oozed out from the mouth of the state commissioner for information that the state government had expended over N40 billion on the payment of teachers' salaries, health workers and the monarchs and other sectors since its inability to access the local government funds should be told to the marine as the same garrulous information commissioner failed to tell the people that the Governor Adeleke-led government is owing the local government councils N88 billion, being the refund of the amount it illegally collected from the local government allocations since the conferment of an independent status on the third tier of government by the Supreme Court.

Simple arithmetic reveals, based on the figures at hand, that  the Adeleke-led government is owing the local government councils in the state a total sum of N44 billion, which it should, without further delay, state its mode of repayment without necessarily waiting for litigation for its redress.

We are not surprised that the Adeleke-led administration has been recording monumental failure in all fronts as it is a gross manifestation of the ill-preparedness of the Ede-born state Chief Executive whose absolute reliance on the running of the government is based on impulse rather than planning.

The good people of the state have witnessed Governor Adeleke's best which is grossly insufficient for making Osun State to be at par with the comity of other developing states in Nigeria.

It is our conviction that the lost glory of the state shall be instantaneously restored on the 8th of August, 2026 when there would be imminent change of baton with reference to the administration of the state between Governor Adeleke and our governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji(AMBO).
