February 10th A/Court Judgment: Osun Council Chairmen, Councillors Celebrate 1yr Reinstatement, Reaffirm Commitment To Grassroots Development...Extol Judiciary For Restoring People's Hope...Pray for repose of soul of slain Irewole Council Chair, Hon. Remi Abass
The Forum of the Council Chairmen in Osun State under the umbrella of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria(ALGON) and their Councillors across the 30 Local Government Areas in the state on Tuesday eulogized the Judiciary for restoring and rekindling the people's hope.
The council Chairmen and Councillors affirmed that the Judiciary truly remained 'last hope of common man' as affirmed in the Court of Appeal judgment of February 10th, 2025 reinstating the validly and constitutionally elected Council officers under the political platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The Chairmen prayed for the repose of the soul of late Hon. Remi Abass who was murdered on the official resumption of the council Chairmen last year.
Recall that the Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, Ondo had on February 10th, 2025 gave a judgment on the appeal filed by the elected APC Chairmen and Councillors as the court allowed all the Appeal for being meritorious.
Lauding the judiciary for being the last hope of a common, the Osun State ALGON Chairman, Hon Samuel Idowu Abiodun, in a statement issued on behalf of all the council chairmen and councillors, acknowledged the sound judgment delivered by the Appeal Court which reaffirmed and revalidated their emergence.
The Chairmen reiterated their avowed commitment to grassroots development noting that no efforts would be spared to turnaround the socioeconomic fortunes of local government administration in the state.
The council bosses who bemoaned the way and manner the state government has been frustrating the functionality of local government councils in the state, said 'no matter what Adeleke and cohorts in government does, reinstatement has come to stay'
