Ilesa West LG Chairman, Hon. Olusegun Olabode JP, Clears Backlog of Arrears for Council of Obas and Chiefs
PRESS STATEMENT
The Executive Chairman of Ilesa West Local Government, Hon. Olusegun Olabode JP (Shigo Papa), has successfully cleared the outstanding salary arrears owed to members of the Ilesa West Council of Obas and Chiefs.
The long-awaited payment was effected after the completion of all necessary administrative processes. It would be recalled that the Chairman had earlier approved the payment and enrollment of the Council of Obas and Chiefs; however, delays arising from administrative documentation temporarily stalled the disbursement.
Hon. Olusegun Olabode JP reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the welfare of traditional rulers, describing them as indispensable custodians of culture, peace, and heritage. He pledged the continuous support of his administration to the traditional institution in Ilesa West Local Government.
The Chairman further expressed his appreciation to the Obas and Chiefs for their patience and cooperation, noting that their understanding and support greatly facilitated the successful payment of the arrears.
He also called for sustained collaboration with the traditional rulers, particularly in the areas of security, economic development, and cultural preservation, emphasizing that effective governance thrives on mutual cooperation and shared responsibility.
Signed:
Office of the Chairman,
Ilesa West Local Government
