Fadipe’s Court Action Over Investigation Is Diversionary ~ Osun APC Slams SUBEB Chair
PRESS STATEMENT.
(29TH MARCH, 2026).
The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken note of the suit filed by the Chairman of แปsun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mr Ibukun Fadipe, seeking to restrain security agencies from investigating him in connection with the death of Otunba Ade Komolafe, former Chairman of DHL.
While every citizen reserves the constitutional right to approach the court, we find Fadipe’s application curious, revealing and deeply troubling.
His attempt to preemptively block lawful security agencies from carrying out their statutory duties raises serious questions about his claims of innocence.
It is a well-known principle that a truly innocent person has nothing to fear from investigation.
The decision by Fadipe to rush to court in a bid to halt any form of inquiry suggests a desperate effort to avoid scrutiny.
This action, in itself, lends credence to public suspicion that there may indeed be unresolved issues surrounding the circumstances of Otunba Ade Komolafe’s death.
There is a need for the police and the relevant authorities to investigate the rationale behind the so-called Legal Advice No CR/03/2010 purportedly signed by one Ayoola Babalola of the แปsun State Ministry of Justice on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions in June 2010 and addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone X1 Command Headquarters.
The document is riddled with inconsistencies, seeming cover-up and political statement, hence the reason for the law enforcement agents to review the case to ascertain if there was no political compromise to bury the case.
We state unequivocally that no individual is above the law, and no one should be allowed to obstruct justice under any guise.
The Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Immigration Service, and other relevant agencies must be allowed to carry out a thorough, impartial, and professional review of the 2010 case in the interest of justice and public confidence.
If Fadipe is indeed innocent as he claims, he should submit himself to due process and allow the appropriate authorities to investigate and establish the truth.
Seeking judicial cover to evade investigation only deepens suspicion and undermines public trust.
The APC in Osun State reiterates its commitment to the rule of law, transparency and justice.
We urge all parties involved to respect the integrity of our institutions and allow justice to take its full course.
As the saying goes, the innocent fear no foe.
