As over 2500 households receive Tinubu's free Ramadan packages
As Osun State approaches another election season, the President, Osun State Muslim Community, Alhaji Mustapha Olawuyi on Thursday eulogized the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) for his unwavering commitment towards the propagation of Islam in Osun State, Nigeria and across the globe.
The Muslim leader reaffirmed the genuineness of Oyebamiji's fate, attesting that "he's a devout Muslim and pride of Islam in Nigeria and beyond."
Oyebamiji declared that every sector would be given desired attention under his watch when elected Governor.
This is even as Osun Concerned Muslim Stakeholders declared readiness to ensure the emergence of a genuine and committed Muslim to become next Osun State Governor as over 2,500 Muslim Ummah received President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Ramadan food items in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Speaking at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji Ramadan Support Programme, organised by the Osun State Concerned Muslim Stakeholders and League of Alfas, Alhaji Olawuyi represented by his vice, Alhaji Abdul-Lateef Olayanju described Oyebamiji as a reliable companion in Islam whose immense contributions to the faith can not be overemphasized.
The Muslim leader acknowledged Oyebamiji's islamic upbringing and involvement, noting the APC Candidate is not only a genuine Muslim but an epitome of Islamic principles and tenets as manifested in his worship and conduct both in private and public glares.
In his words: "We have known Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji for a very long time both in private and public sectors. He is a genuine Muslim in and out. We can attest to his faithfulness, sincerity and piousness because we know him as a pride and symbol of religiosity and spirituality. He is not a cosmetic Muslim; he is not a religious hypocrite rather he is a good Muslim by all ramifications. We are proud of him. We are pleased to identify with him and his successes as we remain firmly in our faith in Allah to continue to soar him higher and grant all his heart desires."
In his remarks, the President, Concerned Muslim Stakeholders and League of Alfas in Osun State, Sheikh Qozeem Abdul-Rahaman expressed displeasure over non-existence of Muslim Governor in the entire seventeen States Southern Nigeria, saying "we must reflect on the unfortunate reality that there exists not a single Muslim Governor in the Southern Nigeria.
"If we are to rectify this anomaly, we must galvanize efforts to promote the critical importance of electing a Muslim to the governorship position and we must ensure that our votes are cast for candidates who align with our faith and those who genuinely represent us not for those who traverse religious boundaries merely as a matter of convenience.
"Beyond the esteemed title of Balogun Musulumi of Irewole/Ayedaade/Isokan, Asiwaju Munirudeen, Bola Oyebamiji stands as a proven and reliable Muslim leader, deserving our unequivocal support and confidence to become next Osun Governor", he added.
In his short remarks, Oyebamiji expressed profound gratitude to the people of the state in general and Muslim Ummah in particular for their unflinching supports and solidarity since the declaration of his intention to vie for the governorship position just as he reassured them of his readiness to run all inclusive, participatory and people-oriented government when elected Governor.
He appealed for a continued support, explaining that every promise made will be kept and fulfilled in the interest of all.
Fielding questions from journalists shortly after the event, Oyebamiji discountenanced the falsehood that federal government would want to influence the conduct of the forthcoming governorship poll saying "we are solidly on ground to unseat the incumbent Governor and his government come August 15th, 2026."
In their separate lectures, President, Council of Ulamahu in Nigeria, Sheikh Abdul-Fatai Taani and Prof. Kamarudeen Busari emphasized the need for Muslims to be at the helms affairs.
The Muslim clerics hailed Oyebamiji's rare virtues and genuine faith describing him 'a round peg in a round hole' to steer the ship of the state.
"Oyebamiji is not an imposter, he is not a religious charlatan, he is not a religious fraudster, he is not a false devotee, he is a devout Muslim to the core and we are proud of him and his transformative leadership", Prof. Busari emphasized.
The occasion saw to the distribution of several Ramadan food items of President Tinubu as over 2500 Muslim households benefitted largely from the President's kind gesture.
