Osun 2026: Oyetola rallies APC elders, pushes grassroots mobilisation

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has intensified political consultations ahead of the Aug. 15 governorship election in Osun.

Oyetola, leader of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, hosted strategic engagements with party leaders and stakeholders in the state, according to a statement released on Monday in Lagos by his Special Adviser, Dr. Bolaji Akinola.

Akinola said the meetings were held at Oyetola’s country home in Iragbiji, Boripe Local Government Area of Osun.

He said participants included party elders, serving and former members of the National Assembly, former members of the State House of Assembly, support groups, and key political stakeholders in the state.

Akinola said the engagements formed part of Oyetola’s broader consultations to consolidate party unity and mobilise grassroots support ahead of the poll.

Addressing the gathering, Oyetola urged party elders and leaders to close ranks and intensify mobilisation across communities.

“The forthcoming election will be decisive and critical for the future of our party and the state.

He also enjoys the goodwill and confidence of stakeholders across the state,” Oyetola said.

He reminded party leaders that preparations for the 2026 governorship election must align with broader strategies for the 2027 general elections.

According to him, unity among stakeholders remains the APC’s greatest strength.

“Our collective resolve and unity will determine the outcome of the coming election. We must remain loyal to the ideals of our party and committed to the progress of Osun.

“Working together, we can return the APC to government in the state,” he added.

The minister commended elders and loyal party members for their dedication to the APC.

He urged them to sustain efforts that promote peace, cooperation and political stability in their communities and local government areas.

He emphasised that consistent grassroots mobilisation and collective responsibility would be essential for electoral victory.

Participants at the meetings were said to have pledged their commitment to the party and promised to work together toward returning the APC to power in the state.
