Ramadan 1447: OPPF Organizes Ramadan Lecture, Rallies Support for AMBO Ahead of Osun Guber Election

The Osun Progressive People’s Forum (OPPF) has organized a special Ramadan Lecture and Prayer Session in support of the governorship ambition of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), ahead of the August 15, 2026 Osun State Governorship Election.

The spiritually enriching event, held as part of activities marking Ramadan 1447 AH, brought together prominent APC leaders, stakeholders and Muslim faithful who gathered to seek divine guidance and pray for the success of the party in the forthcoming election.

The Ramadan lecture was delivered by Sheikh (Dr.) Toliat Yunus Ayilara, the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosholand, who spoke extensively on the theme “Politics and Islam.”
In his lecture, Sheikh Ayilara emphasized that Islam encourages justice, fairness, honesty and service to humanity in leadership. He urged politicians and public office holders to always uphold moral values and prioritize the welfare of the people, noting that politics should be practiced with the fear of God and a strong commitment to societal development.

He also called on Muslims and citizens to actively participate in governance by supporting credible leaders who are capable of delivering good governance and meaningful development.
The event was organized under the leadership of Hon. Wasiu Abidemi Abiona, with members of the forum reaffirming their commitment to mobilizing support for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) and the APC ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.

Several notable APC chieftains and stakeholders graced the event, including Alhaji Sooko Lawal Tajudeen, Oluomo Akere Sunday, Oyewo Bukola, Adebayo Waseeu (Equity), Adeleke Yekini Adebayo (Banik) – the APC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Aare Adereti Benjamin Kayode – House of Representatives Aspirant for Osogbo Federal Constituency, Abdulrasheed Muideen (Romeo), Alhaji Ibrahim Oyeladun, and the Osun APC State Youth Leader, Alhaji Akinwemimo Goke, among other party leaders and supporters.

Speakers at the gathering commended the leadership of the Osun Progressive People’s Forum (OPPF) for organizing the lecture, describing it as a commendable initiative that combines spiritual reflection with political engagement during the holy month of Ramadan.

The event concluded with special prayers for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, His Excellency, Adegboyega Oyetola CON, Honourable Minister for Marine and Blue Economy, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, peace, unity, and electoral victory for the APC, in the August 15, 2026 Osun Governorship Election.
