Omowaiye Trample Osun Falsehoods, Sets Record Straight On Salaries, LG Funds, UNILESA And State Debt
The Head of the Media and Publicity Committee of the AMBO Governorship Campaign, Engr Oluremi Omowaiye, was a cynosure of all eyes today when he appeared on Western Spring Television owned by a political appointee of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Dr Femi Adefila.
On the show, the former Commissioner of Works in แปsun did not only communicate the plans of the APC gubernatorial candidate to the people, he equally used the moment to school one of the biased interviewers on the show.
While the interviewer was expected to ask her guest informed questions that would interrogate public policy, she was fixated on re-echoing and reaffirming wrong and partisan positions often projected and circulated by the Ademola Adeleke government.
Firstly, Remi Omowaiye clarified the insinuation that the half-salary regime in Osun started under Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) as Commissioner of Finance. He explained that the half-salary started in June 2015, while Oyebamiji AMBO became the Commissioner of Finance in May 2017, clear two years after the activation of the modulated salary.
On the wrong information posed by the interviewer about the alleged payroll fraud perpetrated by the state government of Osรนn which was detected by Sally Tibbot consulting, Engr Remi Omowaiye clarified that the audit was for the Adeleke government and began in 2023, not 2022 as the interviewer claimed. Therefore, the audit was about the government of Adeleke, not the previous government.
On UNILESA which the interviewer erroneously claimed was established by the Ademola Adeleke, Omowaiye corrected that the Oyetola administration established the university. He accused the interviewer of struggling to parrot the falsehood being propagated by the Osun State Government, clarifying that the Oyetola government put everything necessary in place for the university to kick-start, including ensuring that the new university and its courses were enrolled on the JAMB brochure and portal. Notably, Omowaiye was startled over the decision of the lady-interviewer to misinform the public. He maintained that ex-Governor Adegboyega Oyetola announced to the people of แปsun the decision of the state government to convert the state college of education in Ilesa to a university in March 2022, months before the July governorship elections.
Omowaiye noted that local governments also have a pivotal role to play. He challenged the interviewer to explain the reason the state governor accessed N15 billion security vote in 3 years if he has no role to play on security.
Omowaiye challenged the Osun State Government to dispel the claim that the federal government waived N57.6 billion debt for the state, therefore reducing its debt exposure.
Lastly, Remi Omowaiye urged members of the press to always report the truth and not mislead the general public.
