Your Grading Of 1,050 Kms Of Roads Is Highly Commendable- Osun APC Lauds Reinstated LG Executives ... Says Action, A Complete Departure From Adeleke's Concentration Of Developmental Projects In Ede, His Town
PRESS STATEMENT. (8TH APRIL, 2026).
The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the party's reinstated local government council chairmen over their even development of the state through the ongoing grading of 1,050 kilometres of roads across the nooks and crannies of the state.
The ongoing grading of the 35 kilometres of roads per local government by the Court of Appeal reinstated local government council chairmen is a complete departure from the parochial priority of the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led government which is concentrating road construction projects in Ede, his town, which has only two local government council areas, to the detriment of all the other 28 local government council areas and one Area Office, making up the state.
It is not an hyperbolic expression or an act of playing of any dirty politics with the fact that Adeleke has been overpaying developmental attention to his town where all the five roads leading to the town have either been dualized or are currently undergoing a rapid dualization process with the rehabilitation, reconstruction and tarring of all the inner roads in the ancient town of Ede.
The common excuse of Governor Adeleke and his aides that dualization of roads is also going on in Ile-Ife, Iwo, Ilesa and Ila-Orangun has been an effort to put a wool on the faces of the people as it is not the same commitment to the projects in the other towns apart from Ede that the state government has been prosecuting the projects which is one road each in the other towns mentioned.
We commend the efforts of the progressive council executives which is geared towards making life more abundant for the long neglected people of the state, particularly at the grassroots.
We are not unaware of the diabolical efforts of the current political functionaries of the Accord Party extraction who are only marking their time in the office who have been trying all means to incite the people of the state against the reinstated local government council chairmen by dropping cooked up figures to the tune of billions of naira as being the cost of grading the roads.
The identified problem of Governor Adeleke and his political co-travellers has been that the pro-action of the APC local government council chairmen has exposed the incumbent administration in the state of not having what it is required to effectively govern the state.
We wonder the sin of the proactive APC local government council chairmen whose priority has been the even development of the state as opposed to the vision and mission of Governor Adeleke to develop his town at the expense of the other local government areas in the state.
Our advice to Governor Adeleke and the retinue of his unproductive aides is to go back to their drawing board and find a way of justifying the spending of the statutory monthly handouts coming in from Abuja and the Internally Generated Revenue(IGR) which collection and management has become an object of secrecy since the inauguration of the outgoing administration of the Accord Party-led government in the state.
If such noticeable impact of the government under the APC reinstated local government council executives could be experienced when we are not controlling the centre in the state, one could imagine what the level of development would look like when the workaholic and experienced APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), takes the centre stage in the administration of the state after sending Nurudeen back to Ede or wherever he might have come from in the United States of America through the forthcoming 15th August, 2026 governorship election?
