Hon.Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni (Fmhr) Breaks Silence......I am still in the race
I have received several calls, messages, and rumours suggesting that I have withdrawn my ambition to represent the good people of Ijesa South Federal Constituency. Let me clearly state that this is false and misleading.
I have officially collected my nomination form, completed the screening process, and I remain fully in the race. I am not stepping down for anybody.
Let me also set the record straight: no candidate has been officially endorsed or chosen by the party. It is equally untrue that the Presidency has endorsed any aspirant. APC remains a party that rewards loyalty, commitment, and perseverance, and the process is still open and ongoing. Claims that any individual has already been handed the ticket by party leaders are mere rumours and political propaganda.
As many of you know, I contested in the last election. I did not lose because I lacked the support or love of the people, but because the process was marred by hooliganism and violence. We cannot forget how many of our people were killed, maimed, and displaced from their homes by the opposition. Several court cases are still ongoing in respect of these unfortunate events. In a truly free and fair election, I remain confident in the overwhelming support of the people.
Despite everything, I have continued to make sacrifices and contribute my quota to the growth and stability of our party, even without holding any political office. I have consistently stood by the APC and remained committed to the development of Ijesa South Federal Constituency and the welfare of our people.
I therefore urge all my supporters, party faithful, and well-wishers to remain steadfast and continue supporting this movement. Victory is near, and together, we shall celebrate soon.
Thank you, and God bless.
e - Signed :
Hon.Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni Fmhr
