Hon.Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni (FMhr) Steps Down For Party Unity Ahead Of APC Primaries

In a remarkable display of loyalty, sacrifice, and statesmanship, Honourable Lawrence Babatunde Ayeni, FMHR, has officially withdrawn from the forthcoming APC House of Representatives primaries scheduled for Saturday, 16th May 2026.
   

Following wide consultations with party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters, Hon. L B Ayeni stated that the unity, strength, and overall success of the APC must remain above every personal ambition.
According to him, leadership is not only about contesting for office but also about making difficult decisions in the interest of peace, progress, and party cohesion.
“Sometimes, the greatest act of leadership is sacrifice. God’s time is always the best,” he stated.

Hon. Ayeni further reaffirmed his commitment to the ideals and victory of the APC, while calling on his supporters across the state to remain calm, peaceful, steadfast, and united in support of the party.

His decision has been widely described by supporters and stakeholders as a bold and selfless step that reflects maturity, discipline, and dedication to the progressive vision of the APC.
