The event, held in Ilesa, brought together thousands of youths, party leaders, community elders, and APC stakeholders from across the six local government areas that make up Ijesaland: Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakumosa East, Atakumosa West, Obokun, and Oriade. The official launching of the Ijesa Young Progressives doubled as a declaration of the group’s commitment to mobilize grassroots support and secure victory for APC in 2026.
The Ijesa Young Progressives was formed to serve as a unifying platform for young people in Ijesaland who are passionate about good governance, community development, and active participation in the democratic process. At the launch, convener of the group, Hon. In a keynote address, the group’s leadership described *AMBO* as a tested administrator with a clear vision for Osun State. They cited his experience in public finance, local government administration, and economic development as qualities that make him the right candidate to lead Osun into a new era of prosperity. The youths pledged to take AMBO’s message to every street, market, and household in Ijesaland in the months leading up to the election.
The rally also served as an opportunity for party stakeholders to reaffirm loyalty to the APC leadership in Osun State under His Excellency Isiaq Adegboyega Oyetola. The Co-Convener, Chief Babatunde Aguntasolo emphasized that unity within the party remains the foundation for success in 2026 and urged all members to avoid actions that could undermine party cohesion.
Several APC chieftains at the event praised the initiative of the Ijesa Young Progressives, noting that the active involvement of young people in politics is vital for the party’s future. They commended the group for choosing to align with a candidate whose agenda prioritizes youth empowerment, job creation, and infrastructural development.
Beyond the political speeches, the event was marked by Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma who thrills crowd with his music as Youth declare support for APC Gubernatorial Candidate. The launch attracted wide participation from women groups, artisans, students, and community associations, underscoring the broad-based appeal of AMBO’s candidacy in the region.
The Ijesa Youth Progressives concluded the launch with a formal resolution to embark on sustained grassroots campaigns across Ijesaland. The group pledged to work in collaboration with ward and local government party structures to ensure APC records a landslide victory in the 2026 gubernatorial election.
As the political season gains momentum, the successful launch and rally have positioned the Ijesa Youth Progressives as a key force in the APC’s mobilization strategy in Ijesaland, with AMBO at the center of the youth-driven push for a new direction in Osun State.
