May Day 2026: Concerned NULGE Staff And ALGON Osun Reaffirm Support For AMBO, Present Gift To Incomig Governor
The Association of Concerned Local Government NULGE Staff, Osun State, in solidarity with the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Osun Chapter, marked this year’s May Day celebration with a united front at the Olorunda Local Government Secretariat in Osogbo.
The gathering brought together NULGE staff representatives from across the 30 Local Government Areas and Area Office in Osun State alongside all the Executive Chairmen under the ALGON banner. The event was a strong demonstration of the bond between grassroots workers and elected council leaders in advancing good governance and workers’ welfare.
In attendance was Hon.Olabode Oluwasegun JP, popularly known as SHIGOPAPA, the Executive Chairman of Ilesa West Local Government, who joined fellow chairmen to celebrate workers’ contributions to the development of local governance in Osun State.
During the event, the Association of Concerned Local Government NULGE Staff unanimously reaffirmed their unwavering support for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), describing him as the candidate with the capacity, experience, and vision to move Osun State forward. The staff praised AMBO’s track record of public service and commitment to grassroots development, stating that his leadership aligns with the aspirations of local government workers.
In a symbolic gesture of confidence and goodwill, the association also offered prayers for AMBO’s victory in the forthcoming gubernatorial election scheduled for August 15th, 2026, and presented a commemorative gift to him as the incoming Governor of Osun State.
Speaking on behalf of the chairmen, Hon. Abiodun Idowu commended the NULGE staff for their dedication and for choosing unity over division. He emphasized that local government workers remain the backbone of governance at the grassroots and assured them of continued collaboration to improve working conditions and service delivery.
The May Day celebration ended on a note of optimism, with both NULGE staff and ALGON executives pledging to work together for a peaceful election and a prosperous Osun State under AMBO’s leadership.
